Bei diesem Online-Wettbewerb können Sie Ihre Fähigkeiten in der Sekundärmetallurgie unter Beweis stellen, in dem Sie den preisgünstigsten Stahl für Ihre Kunden produzieren.

Neben den offiziellen Preisen (Reise nach Mumbai, iPad, Cash, Zertifikat, ...) gibt es für das beste verwertbare Ergebnis unter allen Leobner TeilnehmerInnen ein Praktikum bei Primetals zu gewinnen.

Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass Sie sich bis 29.11. 12:00 registrieren und Michael Bernhard bei Ihrer Registrierung als Advisor definieren!

Die Vorbesprechung für die Veranstaltung findet am Donnerstag den 23.11. um 16:30 im ISN Raum statt.

Die Austragung der Steeluniversity Challenge - 12 dauert 24 Stunden und findet vom 29.11. 12:00 Uhr bis 30.11. 12:00 Uhr statt.

Hier stellen wir Ihnen Snacks, Getränke und Hilfestellung im Foyer des Departments für Metallurgie zur Verfügung.

steelChallenge-12 Regional Championship - 29 November 2017

steeluniversity opened registration for the 12th edition of steelChallenge, a competition where students and industry employees can test their skills using the sophisticated online process simulations delivered by steeluniversity.

steelChallenge-12 will take place in two rounds. The Regional Championship will take place 29 November 2017 from 12.00 UTC. Participants will access the competition from the steeluniversity website and will have 24 hours to record at least three successful runs of the secondary steelmaking simulation; making the required steel at the lowest cost.

On this occasion, the Secondary Steelmaking Simulation will be used to produce a specific grade of steel. Signing-up in steeluniversity website, participants will have access to the Secondary Steelmaking course and the Secondary Steelmaking Simulator to start practising now.

The Regional Championship is divided into four zones: North and South America; Europe, CIS, Middle East and Africa; Asia and Oceania (excluding China); and China. Each participant must register in the student or industry category.

The winners will receive cash prizes, a tablet, a World Championship Finalist certificate, and a travel allowance to participate in the World Championship in Mumbai, India.

Why is steelChallenge-12 important for industry professionals?

steelChallenge-12 is a worldwide event organized by steeluniversity and worldsteel, and sponsored by the following companies: HIBIS Group, Ternium, Tenaris, JFE Corporation and Nucor. In addition to the money, the tablet and the certificate, the winners will have the opportunity to meet the industry leaders at the awards ceremony.

steelChallenge-12 is a highly motivating activity that favours the development of personal abilities in an atmosphere of playful competition among peers.

Why is steelChallenge-12 important for students?

The participation in steelChallenge-12 is free for students from all over the world. It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about steel production and make learning both challenging and entertaining. In addition, a champion certificate will look great on your résumé.

I'm a teacher, why is steelChallenge important to my students?

The competition is intended to be a playful activity that motivates students' learning through the use of simulations. Teachers are provided with courses by steeluniversity that can be used as teaching resources.

In addition, students who become Regional Champions will win a travel allowance for their faculty advisor to join them at the grand finale to be held in Mumbai, India.

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) opened registration for the 12th edition of steelChallenge, a competition where students and industry employees can test their skills using the sophisticated online process simulations delivered by steeluniversity. steelChallenge-12 will take place in two rounds. The Regional Championship will take place on 29 November 2017 from 12.00 UTC. Participants will access the competition from the steeluniversity website and will have 24 hours to record at least three successful runs of the secondary steelmaking simulation; making the required steel at the lowest cost.

The finalists for the World Championship will include the top student and industry person in each of the regions plus the student and industry person with the next best result worldwide. The four regions are (a) North & South America, (b) Europe, CIS, Middle East & Africa, (c) Asia & Oceania, excluding China, and (d) China.

The World Championship will take place in person 10 April 2018 in Mumbai, India. The Regional Champions receive a cash prize, a travel allowance to attend the World Championship in Mumbai, a tablet and a certificate. They will also gain recognition as the global industry's promising new generation of metallurgists and be featured on steeluniversity's website. The World Champions will take home the steelChallenge trophy and receive an additional cash prize and certificate. Participants can register for steelChallenge-12 now at steeluniversity.org. Registration is free for students. There is a small fee for industry employees. More information about steelChallenge-12 is available at steeluniversity.org.
